For folks reading this, that means a minor inconvenience, maybe a slightly higher electric bill over the next few weeks, but the comfort of knowing at almost all times you will be in an air conditioned room or car. For the folks ARM serves - this means very real danger and significant suffering. Over the next few weeks, temperatures across the state are expected to EXCEED 100 degrees, with little to no temperature relief at night. For folks who don’t have access to enough water or cool places to escape the constant oppression of heat - this can be DEADLY. ARM will be on the ground with our partners with showers, meals, and cold water to help guests escape the heat and stay hydrated - we are asking YOU to participate in the #HeatReliefCaravan by donating water or money to help support our coalition fighting for hygiene access and rights.
Donations of Water Only will be accepted throughout the month at the United Methodist Church in New Brunswick, located at 323 George Street (Office Entrance on Liberty Street).
Dropoff Hours are from :
8am - 1pm Tuesday through Friday
DAILY from 6pm-7pm during service.
We are also asking you to consider volunteering for showers or dinner service during this especially trying time. Thank you for supporting your community!
